LIFE Journal Loser

Some of you may have noticed California Refuge’s recent update "pursuit-of-more". Good job, CR!

Well, I am also attempting to LIFE Journal (I really don’t think that’s a verb). Some of the main points of LIFE Journaling are as follows (not meant to be an exhaustive list)

1. The entire church is reading the same scriptures at the same time. Indirectly, yet purposely creating unity within the body.
2. You are daily in the Word.
3. You are focused on the Word (trying to fine a scripture for the S and/or ovservations for the O in SOAP).
4. You’re applying the Word to your circumstance (the A in SOAP).
5. You’re praying regularly (the P in SOAP).
6. And now when you find yourself asked to lead or share with a group you have a reference, aka your journal (with it’s table of contents) for material to expound.

Now those of you familiar with my loser (or looser) series, know this is way too simple for me to just do it. I need to find an easier way to do it.

First, I find where I can get the “Leatherette Life Journal”, not that I will ever buy one, just visit this site weekly to contemplate buying one (maybe I should try eBay).

Then I found a place where I can listen to the daily reading instead of wasting my time trying to read (I’m a slow reader) it on my own. Not to mention I don’t have to spend time looking up the verses, after I’ve looked up which verses to look up. And of course I always read along with the voice on the computer (and never fall asleep).

Now, so far I’ve only done this twice (probably 3, if I finish this in time) in about a week. Since I did it at work the first time (both times actually) I didn’t have my journal with me. So now I’m wondering if this might be what I need. But that might be too much typing for me. Where did I put that Via Voice? Shoot, the kids broke the headset, where can I get a new one (or eBay). Naw, that would be dumb. Pastor Marvin said “keep it simple so you do it everyday”, that’s what is important.

Okay, get a grip. Just use the journal your wife got for you when she got hers. Oh darn, I gave that to jitz when I realized that she would get more use out of it than I would. Hey, good call Dad!

So at least sometimes (Like twice a week, maybe) I’m on the same page as the rest of the church with the bible reading. 1 out of 6 ain't ...yea it's bad.

Sigh, if I only had more time.

INSTE Looser

I have finals in INSTE this week, which consist four 500 word essays. But before I can do them I must complete eight essay outlines (not started) so that I may participate in the group discussion (last night) (couldn’t go didn’t have outlines done) which will help me formulate my final essays (missed out). “So what, just do your best on the four essays” you say, no, I have to turn in all the outlines (8) with the essays (four 500 word), and on top of that I still have a unit test that has to be completed before any of this will be accepted (by Tuesday). Now if you know me at all, you know that I’m a true conservative, I even use a few a words as possible when typing.

1, cause I’m a slow typist
2, I don’t know how to spell half the words I would type (if I could type faster)
3, everything I type sounds stupid to me (like hearing your own recorded voice) so I have to reread it six times. But I’m a slow reader, cause I’m dyslexic, so I’m still not sure I type, it right or if I’m just seeing it that way. (I just reread #3 twice and found 4 error, not counting the spelling)

“So why”, you say, “Do you waste all these word on this blog?” (233 at this point) (That’s half an essay, by the way) let me answer.

1, I’ve been tagged (I have really no idea what that means).
2, I feel guilty for not meeting my obligations to the blog lady.
3, Its part of my self-destructive nature to do that which will puts me the most behind.
4, I actually had something to blog (whine) about.

Check back in a couple months (right after you see Californian Refugee post something new)

women and phone cords

What is it with women and phone cords?

All the women in my office have phone cords that are all knotted up. You can’t even answer the phone with out pulling the phone off the desk. And they will use it in this condition all day, for weeks and weeks. Until I straighten it out while in conversation with them. Now, my phone on the other hand, you can answer it and walk halfway across the room without a problem, because the cord isn’t all knotted up!

Disclaimer: I am not sexist, just obsessive compulsive. I’m sure that it is just a coincident that only the women in my office display the behavior described.

And I am aware it may have something to do with the fact that there are only two women and myself in the office, and I don’t answer the phone.

Do you guys ever visit profiles? I went through a lot of clever creative whit time to make my profile interesting yet descriptive (in an anonymous sort of way). And I would like to know if anyone even noticed. Oh yea, now you look at it. That’s not even fair, now you have an expectation, and there is no way I can live up to that. You would have had to just visited it in a nonchalant “oh, what’s this say” manner for it to have truly been affective. So great now you will probably make comments. But I can’t trust them, because they won’t represent an unbiased, unprepped opinion.

And now you probably feel sorry for me.

By the way I have visited your profiles and most were rather bland and lacking forethought.

I just realized the only purpose for my blog.

I have links!

Have you ever noticed that no one in our circle of blife (combo word blog + life = blife) puts the best friends blog link on their link list. I hear that it is because they change templates so often. And don't want to redo the links settings. But me being the true conservative I am, I can plainly see that the effort I put in to update my links is less energy than what is expended by you’ all, each individually having to go back to your favorites menu scroll down and select your next favorite blog to read. Therefore I am doing my part to conserve energy for a better tomorrow. Let me know of your favorite blog and I will update my links. “Tommyboy your one stop blog shop”

wet feet

Here it goes I’m getting my feet wet. This may be the dumbest thing I’ve done today, but I’m blog’in. And there are no wooden shoes. My wife called me a "Closet Blogger", and encouraged me to try it out in the open. I’m not sure about it yet. It feels kind funny. But at least I can pretend someone’s listening, for a change. At least now I can leave comments on your blog (not that I will) since you don’t allow anonymous postings.

Interesting I have nothing to say.

I have no idea what or why I'm here. Where Am I? I can't spell. I don't talk pertty good. and I type so slow I forget what I'm......... Oh! and I have a unintreresting perspective on life.
